  • A Vietnamese street vendor in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) carrying their goods across a street.
  • A woman street vendor selling large green fruit on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
  • A temple marker with Chinese characters showing in contrast against a red wall.
  • A coil of smoking incense in a Buddhist temple in Vietnam. The tip of the coil with the ash has curled around. This incense coil, held together loosely with colored thread, is located in front of an antique carved wooden panel.
  • An altar in a Buddhist temple in Vietnam. In the foreground, an urn is filled with burning incense sticks giving off smoke. A flower urn provides some color while a statue with many arms in the background completes the image.
  • A Chinese lion guarding the front gate of a Buddhist temple in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in Vietnam.
  • Down in the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam where the Viet Cong ran their resistance operation in the Vietnam War. These narrow and dark tunnels carved out of clay were about 15 feet below ground and were only about 4 feet tall and maybe 2 feet wide; the only way to move through them was by duck-walking with our shoulders brushing each side. It's hard to imagine 250 kilometers of these tunnels.
  • A partial clip of live ammunition for an AK-47 rifle waiting to be used on a firing range.
  • A M-1 (I think) machine gun, loaded with live ammunition, on a firing range in Vietnam.
  • A woman working a rice paddy in Vietnam wearing traditional clothing of a palm leaf hat. Rice paddies are flooded with water as part of the growing process.
  • A fish, fried in oil, that has been prepared to be made into Vietnamese Spring Rolls. This pictures has been isolated to a white background.
  • A Vietnamese woman bringing fruit to market on a fully loaded boat in the Mekong Delta. The scarf and hat are traditional clothing habits providing cover that are intended to protect the skin from the sun.
  • An old wood boat in the Mekong River delta in Vietnam. The front prow of the boat is painted with the traditional eyes, in the Chinese style, in the front to help it find its way without danger.
  • Two river boats at anchor in the Mekong River delta in Vietnam that are fully loaded with cargo and covered with blue tarps.
  • An ornate decorated Buddhist Temple at My Pho in Vietnam. The courtyard was a peaceful sanctuary.
  • Bags of grain displayed at a street market in Vietnam.
  • The interior of a Buddhist temple in Vietnam. In the foreground, a ceremonial urn is filled with sticks of burning incense that are filling the air with smoke. In the background, one of the altars is barely visible through the smoke.
  • An urn in a Buddhist temple filled with incense and larger prayer sticks. This had so many prayer sticks in it because it was taken during the moon festival.
  • A ceremonial urn filled with smoking incense sticks. This display was in a Buddhist pagoda in Vietnam. The woman in the background is obscured by the swirling smoke.
