  • An abstract pattern taken from a piece of driftwood on San Juan Island. In black and white, the swirls from the wood grain are most apparent.
  • Weathered old yellow shingles on an outside wall of a house form an abstract pattern.
  • An old, weathered wall of plywood covered in peeling paint and remnants of old flyers that had been stapled on and then ripped off.
  • A pattern created from the exterior wall of a fireplace made of rounded rocks from an old river bed.
  • A stack of wood logs that have been split into firewood. Many of the logs show the growth rings as well as the tree bark.
  • A macro view of the skin of a paw-paw cactus is almost abstract. The texture and pattern shows the detail of this plant.
  • A weapons display of old swords, pistols, and various kinds of spears all surrounding a great lion emblem that is well-lit by a spot of sun.
  • A series of used car tires that have been cut and bent are used as boat bumpers for a passenger ferry dock. Note that this is almost in black and white.
