National Park - Mt. Rainier
This gallery includes a series of photographs from two different winter expeditions to Mt. Rainier National Park. In both cases, I was on a snow camping adventure trip with a troop of boy scouts who were intending to dig snow caves as part of a survival training. We reached somewhere between 6,000 and 7,000 feet up on the mountain which is about 2,000 meters. Each time, I was fortunate enough to end up with good weather -- sun and scattered clouds with a bit of blustery wind during the night. The end result are a set of unusual photos of Mt. Rainier in winter in the sun -- and the photos at dawn of the boy scouts and their troop leaders show how nice it could be.
